2023 Spring Wuliang Ruanzhi wulong

From 3,50

In 2013, I traveled to China for the second time and was able to travel in the country for three months on a tourist visa. For the first part of the trip, I accompanied my friends in the province of Sichuan, from where we took a bus to the province of Yunnan after an all-day trip. Those hills were majestic. It was only after they left that I could start wandering around the country and discovering hard-to-reach places. At a hotel in Nanjian, I ran into a group of Chinese scientists to whom I offered good black tea from the city of Fengqing. In return, they invited me to dinner, where I saw Puer à la carte sorted by vintage for the first time. At the same time, I found out that these scientists go to collect samples of walnuts near tea plantations with organic wulong tea and they get to know the head of the factory. 好巧! What a coincidence!
I came to town for this tea! The next day, after a three-hour journey through the mountains, they dropped me off at the factory and told me they would be back in four hours. I had time to savor everything. The 2013 medium-roasted Wuliangshan wulong reached Prague. This year, I dusted off the old contact again and bet on the cultivar 营枝 Ruanzhi or also Qingxin 青心. This tea exceeded my expectations. A dry rolled leaf smells like butter cookies. Its floral taste is long-lasting with a wonderful aftertaste. It is interesting that Chinese cherries grow among the tea trees, perhaps that is why the tea is so fragrant.
