Welcome to my website. Tea is my heart thing. You can find a lot of good tea here from farmers, who I met on my journeys throughout southern China between years 2012 to 2019.Something about me:
My name is Michal Butor and I am a Slovak citizen. I fell in love with tea from tea plant – Camellia sinensis during my studies of Chinese language in 2002. I was then often visiting tearooms in Bratislava where I get in touch with all the finest harvests from all around the world, but mostly from China. First time I went to Yellow mountains in Anhui, China in 2006 during an student exchnge program. Later in 2008, during my studies at Yunnan University I understood the lovely bitternes of Pu-er tea. However, it took me another 4 years to realize that the way of tea “chadao” 茶道 calls me back to Yunnan to explore its oldest tea trees on my own. An thus my tea trees explorations started in 2012 and it was best decision I‘ve made. Thanks to the support of my younger brother Matej we started to import high quality teas to Europe. In 2015 I made my first tea expedition, and since then I have yearly guided dozens of people among tea mountains in Sichuan, Yunnan, Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces in China.
Experiences of meeting people who lives from producing tea is just beyond description.
In this video you can see some shots from tea trip in 2015.
