A place called Jade Dragon Valley (玉龙谷 Yulonggu) is located 15km west of Wuyi Mountain National Park. In the rock oolong tea world, this national park is considered the “true rocks” (Zhengyan 正岩). Mainly because of the rare quality of the soil, the specificity of the fauna and flora and the sensory values of the tea. Tea from the surrounding areas that still belong to the city of Wuyi is often referred to as “half rocks” (Banyan 半岩).
This beautiful orchid also deserves this designation. The quality of workmanship is really charming. I drank different productions of this cultivar, and this one is one of the best. They also quite won here with baking, which can be seen on the so-called quality mark. “frog navels”, visible on infused tea leaves. Have you seen them yet?
